Winter begs for chocolate.

Seriously, the dark days make chocolate a necessity for survival.

This is such a very simple dessert to make I’m almost embarrassed to tell you just how easy it is. I’d rather you thought I slaved for hours in the kitchen, tempering and whisking and folding and fussing.

This is my version of The Pioneer Woman’s recipe, which is more beautifully detailed than mine, but, hey, it’s her job, and this is just my hobby. Hers is orange, mine’s hazelnut. Must go with the hair color of the cook.
